Ameet Mehta has won national and international acclaim as one of the key scriptwriters of the Bollywood blockbuster film Don 2, starring Shah Rukh Khan and produced by Farhan Akhtar. The film was released on December 23, 2011 and has been a huge hit. Ameet is the son of Swarnlata and Sailesh Savailal Mehta, and grandson of Maniben and Savailal Ratanchandbhai Mehta and Sushila and Bhogilal Vahalubhai Mehta.

Don 2 also features Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Om Puri and has received favourable reviews in the press. New York Times praised the script, describing it as “a bombastic, funny and slick cousin” of Hollywood hits Mission Impossible and Ocean’s Eleven. The basic idea of the script for the film came from Ameet and his co-scriptwriter Amrish Shah. They gave it a final shape together with Akhtar.

Ameet Mehta started his career in the film industry in 1995 as an assistant on Channel [V]. He later set up own production house, A2 Productions, along with other partners, and has done TV shows, ad films, music videos, promos and audio visuals. Ameet has also scripted the Hello! Hall of Fame Awards for the last two years. His recent foray into the field of scriptwriting has brought him instant success.
