RNCT Disburses Aid to Children of Mumbai Blasts’ Victims

Chief Guest R.R. Patil hands over scholarship cheque

At two functions organised by Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust (RNCT), over 250 children of victims of different bomb blasts that have rocked Mumbai in recent years were handed over cheques towards sponsoring their education. Asha and Mahendra G. Mehta are the founders and managing  trustees of the organisation.

At the first function held on November 19,  well known police officers J. Ribeiro and Sadanand Date were Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively. More than 80 children were given sponsorship scholarship by the dignitaries including Gul Kripalani, Past President of Indian Merchant Chambers.

Then, on November 25, the Chief Guest R. R. Patil, Minister of Home Affairs, Government of Maharashtra and Guest of Honor Narayan Varma distributed another 175 sponsorship cheques.

At both the events many children and parents of the victims shared their emotional experiences,  the difficulties they face and their readiness to accept the challenges and work towards realising their ambitions. Their strong resilience was gave hope to all those present.
