Surat-based homeopathic doctor Dr Rajmardan  Baxi had a special surprise for Amitabh Bachchan when he got a chance to meet the Bollywood superstar as part of the audience of an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

Baxi, who is well known in Surat for his excellent on the spot portraits of people, was invited to the episode of KBC by one of his Mumbai-based patients. Soon after the recording of the core quiz was completed, Dr Baxi showed Bachchan the carbon pencil sketch that he had created of the superstar.

Bachchan was so impressed, that he spent an additional ten minutes in the studio interacting with Dr. Baxi, and autographed the sketch as well. Director of the show, Shri Basu found the interaction between the two so interesting that he worked it into the broadcast of the episode that was aired in late September, and himself shot a separate 15 minute interview with Baxi for possible future use.
