The first show of the new historical play, “Padharo Maare Desh” that presents the history of Palanpur through music, dance and drama was organized at Nehru Centre in Mumbai on July 30 by the Palanpur Samaj Kendra (PSK). Dedicated to the memory of the Late Nawab Iqbal Mohammed Khan, the first show of the play was viewed by a large audience of Palanpuris including the sons of the Late Nawab Iqbal Mohammed Khan – Shri Muzaffar Mohammed Khan and Shri Yusuf Khan.

The one and a half hour drama, written by award winning playwright Dr. Rishikesh Raval, covered a period of 800 years depicting the important milestones in the development of the princely state and city. The play was staged by a 35 member cast of Aangikam, Palanpur and directed by Aniket Thaker, another award winning theatre personality.

The first performance of the play was sponsored by Navinchandra D. Mehta, M/s D. Navinchandra Export Pvt. Ltd. and Dineshbhai, Arvindbhai, Dharmesh, Vipul, Priyanshu of M/s Asian Star Co. Ltd.

A CD containing the songs in the play was also released on the occasion.
