Vyoma Parikh Holds Solo Art Exhibition “Whispers in the Wild” at Jehangir Art Gallery

Vyoma Parikh displayed a number of her paintings at a Solo Exhibition held at Jehangir Art Gallery, from May 4 to May 10, 2026. The exhibition, inaugurated by Chief Guest Niraj Bajaj, it titled “Whispers in the Wild”, and comprises paintings of imagined landscapes that sit between realism and abstraction, memory and emotion; they are fluid, layered, and quietly alive.

Vyoma, and her husband Atul Parikh, were both well-known international Table Tennis players. Over the years she transitioned to canvas as a medium of expressing her passions. She trained under Anand Pardesee and Pramod Kurlekar, where she honed her skills and developed her own visual language.

Vyoma describes the paintings on display as being rooted in stillness, reflection, and quiet beauty.

She says the art depicts “landscapes and waterscapes through layered colour, drawing on memory rather than place; these are not locations, but impressions, familiar without being fixed… quiet, immersive worlds unfold where time feels suspended: forests dissolve into vertical veils of colour, water reflects not just sky but emotion, and delicate figures - birds, deer, drifting forms - appear and disappear like passing thoughts.”

Vyoma held her first solo exhibition in 2016, followed by a second in 2018 at the Artists’ Centre, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. She also held two online exhibitions that raised funds and awareness for three non-governmental organisations. Her work is part of the permanent collection at the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha.
