Viral B. Mehta Earns Second-Degree Black Belt

Viral B. Mehta, son of Priti & Bakul Rasiklal Mehta recently earned his Second-Degree Black Belt (Ni-Dan) following a surprise examination conducted by Sensei Punit Shah in Okinawa, Japan, on March 17, 2026.

This achievement comes after 10 years of rigorous training and dedication to the discipline of karate.

In 2023, Viral achieved his Sho Dan (1st degree Black Belt) in Goju Ryu style of Karate Do at the age of 46 following his return to the sport 25 years after he had first begun practicing it while in school.

Viral believes that a sport like karate can play an essential role in shaping calm, confident, and responsible individuals in a world where stress, aggression, and violence are increasingly prevalent.

For him, karate extends far beyond self-defense; it is a holistic discipline that strengthens the mind, body, and spirit: consistent practice helps develop valuable life skills that contribute to overall growth and well-being.
