Community Members Join Mumbai Marathon 2026; Vishal Bhansali Completes Unique ‘Procam Slam’

A number of community members took part in the Tata Mumbai Marathon held on January 18, 2026, displaying stamina to complete full or half races, while some also raised funds for social causes.

Vishal Bhansali, who has now run the gruelling Full Marathon of 42 km for the 13th time, achieved a unique ‘Procam Slam’. This involved continuously completing multiple races across four different cities within the defined time limit – Bengaluru (10 km – 00:55:38 hrs), Delhi Half Marathon (21 km - 1:53 hrs), Kolkata (25 km - 2:09 hrs) and now Mumbai (42 km - 4:07 hrs).

Speaking about TMM 2026, Vishal said, “While the experience was as special as ever, the route felt a bit tougher this year—particularly with the introduction of the Coastal Road. Personally, I feel Mumbai is all about crowd support, and that magic gets diluted on that stretch. Hopefully, this is something the organizers reconsider in the future so we’re back on the streets that truly define our favourite city.”

Ankur Samir Mehta also participated in multiple marathons across cities. In Mumbai he completed the Half Marathon, just two weeks after he successfully completed the Palanpur Half Marathon on January 4, where he participated on behalf of the sponsor Bombay Jewellery Manufacturers.
Ankur, who started his athletic journey during Covid at the age of 46 after a lifetime of intellectual pursuits, has also   has completed multiple half and full marathons – impressively running a 50km ultra marathon when he was 50! In 2025 he added a triathlon / half ironman to his repertoire.

Siddharth Mehta, who ran the Half Marathon this year, has now completed 11 Half Marathons and one Full Marathon.

Another veteran participant Sunit Kothari, who took part in the Dream Run, was named a ‘Change Legend’ for the third consecutive year, raising over ₹1 crore individually for women’s empowerment and rural healthcare initiatives of Shrimad Rajchandra Love & Care (SRLC). Sunit has been participating in the Marathon, raising funds for various causes, for over a decade now. His 16-year-old daughter Anyssa Kothari was also named a Change Champion for the second year, having raised Rs 25 lakh for SRLC.
