PSK Sports Committee Conducts Annual Prize Distribution for 2024-25 Events


The Palanpur Samaj Kendra (PSK) Sports Committee conducted its Annual Prize distribution ceremony for sports events held last year at Yashwantrao Chauhan Centre, Mumbai on 20th July 2025.

Each year, the committee invites a prominent sports personality as Chief Guest to inspire the participants. This year it was one of India’s well-known billiards greats, Dhruv Sitwala, who was twice winner in the Asian Billiards Championships and twice a runner up at the World Billiards Championships. 

Addressing the gathering, Sitwala, explained that in sports, it is important not just to participate, but also to put in a lot of hard work to continuously better one’s performance.

The Chief Guest presented medals and trophies to some of the winners. Many of the Sponsors of the tournaments, who were present, were also invited to hand over the trophies and certificates.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Badminton, Chess, Carrom, Table tennis and Tennis tournaments as well as to the top teams in the Box Cricket tournament which is becoming increasingly popular.

The Sports Committee also announced that this year, in addition to the regular tournaments, it will also be introducing a Paddle tournament for the members of the samaj.

All present praised the members of the Sports Committee who come forward each year to plan, coordinate and conduct these programmes, as well as to the Sponsors whose support plays a major role as well. All expressed the hope that the events in 2025-26 will see a rise in the number of participants at each tournament.
