Sevantibhai Shah, founder and chairman of leading diamond manufacturer Venus Jewel was recently felicitated by the Gujarat government for his outstanding contributions to the city of Surat and the state. He received the honour from Gujarat Governor Smt. Kamaladevi and Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi at a function held in Surat on Republic Day.

Sevantibhai was one of the ten individuals across different fields like trade and commerce, technology, science, art, literature etc. who were honoured by the government.

Venus Jewel has not only established itself as a leading diamond company, but was also the subject of a management case study by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, and has won praise for being one of the few companies in the state that did not lay off workers during the recession.
