Mihir Shukla, Co-founder and CEO of Automation Anywhere, a global leader in the field of robotic process automation (RPA) addressed a small gathering of invitees on recent developments in the cutting-edge field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The event, organised at Artesia in Worli, Mumbai on January 6, 2024, was jointly organised by Vidyamandir Trust, Palanpur and Palanpur Samaj Kendra.
Russellbhai A Mehta introduced Mihirbhai Shukla, who hails from Palanpur and is an alumnus of Vidyamandir. Mihirbhai spoke about the recent developments in AI and its impact in the current scenario. He highlighted its many uses with examples of how it is impacting sectors such as education, finance and healthcare, among others. He stressed that AI can process enormous volumes of data almost instantly and will bring about many changes. The new generation, which is familiar with the digital world, will quickly learn and adopt this new tech, he added.
Discussing the pros and cons of these developments, he said that while it will impact many types of jobs that we are currently familiar will, AI will also create multiple new types of employment opportunities.
There are also some dimensions that many find scary, Mihirbhai added, pointing to use of the technology to alter images, photos, speech and generate what are being described as ‘deep fakes’.
