Viral B. Mehta, son of Priti & Bakul Rasiklal Mehta, has achieved his Sho Dan (1st degree Black Belt) in Goju Ryu style of Karate Do, under the rigorous guidance of Sensei Punit Shah. Remarkably, he reached this milestone at the age of 46!
Viral had first begun to learn karate while still in school, but discontinued practice after some time. Now, following a hiatus of 25 years, at the age of 40, he went back to training to achieve his dream of holding a Black Belt.
After six and a half years of devoted practice he achieved his dream and is now a certified Black Belt holder. Viral has encouraged his son and daughter to practice and learn Karate. He advances in his practice regularly and hopes to continue this as a way of life.
