Shrenikbhai Chunilal Choksi, founder of the multi-specialty Mavjat Hospital, the first of its kind in North Gujarat, passed away in Mumbai on July 23, 2023. He was a driving force in the Shri Chunilal Mangalji Choksi Charitable Trust (SCMCT), under the auspices of which the Mavjat Hospital was set up, and had also been one of the senior-most directors at leading diamond company M/s. Interjewel Pvt. Ltd.
 

As a mark of respect to the highly respected philanthropist, the Hospital offered free OPD services from July 24 – 29, 2023.
 

The fully-equipped multi-speciality hospital came up as a result of the vision and initiative of Shrenik Chunilal Choksi. It was a special project to fulfil the dreams of his parents, especially his mother. Work commenced in 2012, when the foundation stone was laid by Shrenikbhai’s son, Hemal and a group of students from the Mamta Mandir special school for differently-abled children.
 

An impressive hospital with a total built-up area of 65,000 sq ft and having a capacity to treat 50 in-house patients as well as advanced facilities for dialysis and cardiac care, was inaugurated on 1st March 2015 by the then Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt. Anandiben Patel in the presence of Shri. Haribhai Chaudhary, Minister of State for Home, Government of India, Shri. Ramanbhai Vora, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat, Dr. A. Raghuvanshi, MD, Vice Chairman and Group CEO, Narayan Health and other dignitaries.
