Dr. Vikram M. Mehta Featured in Chitralekha Magazine

Popular Gujarati fortnightly magazine ચિત્રલેખા (Chitralekha) featured a well-known personality from the community – Dr Vikrambhai M. Mehta, in its July 31, 2023 issue.

The article focused on his continued involvement in academics and philanthropy even at the age of 85, and was written in the context of a recent discussion in Maharashtra over the appropriate age for persons to retire from public life.

Author Ketan Mistri in his article entitled “ચેલા 85ના…. ગુરુ 45ના”, has highlighted Vikrambhai’s long and meritorious involvement in academics – following his first PhD , which he received in 1983, and his second in 2018, he has now completed most of the field work for a thesis on “A Study of Administrative Problems of Panjarapoles Managed by Public Trusts in Gujarat”.

The 85-year old ‘student’ has a 45-year old ‘guru’ – Dr Prashant Shah, under whom he has already completed field work in about 80 institutitions.

The article also mentions Vikrambhai’s association with numerous trusts and institutions such as the Mahajan Hospital, Palanpur, Shree Banaskantha District Kelavani Mandal, Vidyamandir Trust Palanpur, Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation (GJNRF), and others.
