Aashna Pranav Shah  

Aashna, daughter of Shushma and Pranav Kerul Shah won four gold medals in 100 m breast stroke, 50 m butterfly, 50 m freestyle and 50 m breast stroke at the Oberoi International School swimming gala. She represented Aditya Birla World Academy where she is currently studying in Std VII.

Anshul Ketan Kothari  

Anshul Kothari, son of Sushma and Ketan Rasiklal Kothari became the first Palanpuri to be selected to represent India at an international swimming competition when he was chosen to be a part of the Indian Swimming team at the Commonwealth Games, 2010 to be held at New Delhi. He is the only representative of the state of Gujarat on the team. 

In the Federation Cup test Events held in July 2010 at New Delhi, Anshul won three silver medals in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, clocking the third best time ever recorded by an Indian swimmer in the 100m event. Then in the 64th Senior National Aquatic Championships 2010 held in Jaipur from August 24-28, Anshul secured a bronze in the 50m freestyle and placed 4th in 100m and 200m freestyle and 50m butterfly events.

In 2008 Anshul became the first swimmer from Gujarat in over three decades to win a medal at the All India Senior National Swimming Meet. Anshul secured a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle swimming event and had been shortlisted to attend a training camp at Johannesburg as one of the probables for the Indian swimming team at the Commonwealth Games.

He received the Sardar Patel Award in October 2006.

His other achievements include:

  • Five gold medals in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle at the Gujarat Senior Open Swimming Championship in 2008 (with new meet records in the first four events)
  • Silver In the 100m freestyle at the National School Games (Goa), 2007
  • Silver in 4 x 100 m relay and bronze in individual 200m freestyle at the National School Games (Goa), 2007
  • Bronze in 4 x 100 m relay at the National School Games (Bangalore), 2005
  • Back to back gold medals in 23rd and 24th Veer Savarkar All-India sea swimming competition, Chorwad in 2004 and 2006 (both with new records for a distance of 39 km)
  • Silver in the 62nd Annual Longest National Swimming Competition – 81 km – in Bhagirath river in 2005 (with a new meet record)

Sarang Shah  

Sarang, son of Bela and Piyush Shah, secured first place in the district level Water Polo competition held in October 2007. He is currently studying in H.R. College of Commerce & Economics.
